Maria Espeus

Maria Espeus is a photographer born in Boras, Sweden in 1949. She began her professional career in 1968. She lived and worked in Paris between 1971 and 1976 and finally she based in Barcelona in1977 where she began to develop a successful and fruitful career collaborating with advertising agencies, public institutions, publishing houses and Spanish and international magazines and newspapers.

She was the official portrait photographer of the 1992 Olympic Game ceremonies in Barcelona.

She has exhibited her work in numerous exhibitions halls and has received several rewards, including the National Culture Award CoNCA 2017.

She also has been DoP for the documentary Las variaciones Gould (1992) by Manuel Huerga and Director of the insert Retrato in the film Septiembres (2007) by Carlos Bosch.

Maria has permanent exhibitions at the hotels GTower in Kuala Lumpur and at the H1898, U232 and Gran Via hotels in Barcelona. They display her photographs taken in the Malaysia, Philippines and Barcelona, respectively.
